Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This page explains what information is collected when you visit this website, which is run by the author Sarah McCarthy. The short version: I don't ask you for anything, I don't store anything about you myself, and the site uses Meta's advertising pixel so I can tell whether my ads are working.

What I collect directly

Nothing. There are no forms, accounts, comments, or sign-ups on this site, and I don't run my own analytics.

The Meta Pixel

This site uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). When you visit, the pixel may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, the page you viewed, when you viewed it, and whether you clicked a button that goes to Amazon. It may set or read cookies in your browser to do this.

I use this to measure how my Facebook and Instagram ads perform and to help Meta show my ads to readers who are likely to enjoy the book. Meta may connect this information to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and uses it under its own Privacy Policy. I see only aggregated reports (for example, how many people clicked through to Amazon), not who you are.

Visitors in the UK and Europe

If your device is set to a European time zone, the pixel doesn't load unless you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner. You can change your answer any time with the "Cookie choices" link at the bottom of the page. Your choice is remembered in your own browser, not sent to me.

Your choices

This site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals; the options above are the way to limit tracking here.

Hosting

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub records visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Links to Amazon

The buttons on this site take you to Amazon. Once you're there, Amazon's own privacy notice applies. The links include a tracking tag from Amazon's advertising tools so I can see how many readers came from my ads; it doesn't give me any personal information about you.

Children

This site is meant for adult readers and is not directed to children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, access, or delete personal information. Since I don't hold any personal information myself, most requests are best directed to Meta, but you're welcome to contact me and I'll help where I can.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
